Design Requirments

Both our class curriculum and our client placed constraints on our design. Our class is limited to one semester, so our timeline could not exceed one semester in length. Furthermore, we were allowed $75 per student. With a four member team, the allotted budget is $300. Each student is also required to complete skill-building workshops hosted by the ITLL which skills may or may not be applicable to the client project.

Meetings with our client were critical to the design process. Our deliverable must meet the satisfaction of the client, therefore her wants and needs were carefully recorded and digested. For all of our meetings with our client, we met over Zoom. During our initial meeting with our client, the team took notes in a shared document. With our client we summarized the design requirements to be as follows: the product must operate in GoogleMeet, the product must operate with Chromebooks, the work must be presented in a minute or less, must cater to limited fine motor control, must be durable, must be able to use one-two times per class, must be replicable. In the proceeding documentation, we will outline a deliverable that meets the specifications proposed by our client complimented by our creative design abilities.

The EZshow meets all necessary requirements proposed by our client. Our design can seamlessly integrate to in-class use. You can present work within seconds. The requirement of our client was present time under a minute. The EZshow easily hits this goal.

Our design is also incredibly durable. The EZshow can handle rough and long term use. These capabilities are a result of our careful material choices. (See our instruction manual for a comprehensive list of the required and optional materials.) Furthermore, our client requested ability to present work 1-2 times per class. Our product far exceeds this requirement. The strength of our product will ensure a sustainable design that can be used for years to come and can withstand continual use. If parts break due to unforeseen circumstances, repairs are easy and cheap. The instruction manual and video our team has developed enable anyone to fix and personalize the device.

Another design constraint: the client strictly uses GoogleMeet and Chromebooks. Our design complies with these constraints. The only technological component is a modified Chrome extension. Only the viewer needs the extension. Our design will not load the internet or Chromebooks. A result of careful consideration of our design choice.

Our design combines all our requirements into a functioning design that suits the needs of our client. But don't be fooled. The EZshow is a product that can change all remote environments. The EZ show can facilitate collaboration and communication for anyone seeking solutions!
